First day of the 3-week holiday

It is declared the starting of 3-week holiday as mid-year holiday follows immediately after the Gawai Dayak week.
Due to the renovation of the laboratory, I have no choice but to drop in the school from time to time to see the progress of the construction.
7:00a.m. I started to prepare for my lunch with the help of my hubby before he went to his office. I knew that without his help, I am unable to cook anything as my left hand is useless. Today, I need to go to the school to open the gate at 4A class so that the workers can put the fans and the flourescent tube inside the store of 4A class.
8:30a.m. I reached the school and only found out that the lab attendant who is supposed to be on duty left the school without prior notice and she is in Kuching. Leave is granted to the other 2 lab assistants by The Principal. Nobody who is familiar with the lab is working today. I started to get worried. Am I supposed to run the whole show with my cemented wrist? I am frank to tell that I can't make it without anybody's help. After walking for a round and talked with the contractor, I make sure everything is able to run smoothly. It is to my surprise that Form 2 and Form 3 lab are vacated. The project is in progress at a fast rate to beat the time frame. On the contrary, I notice that there are still some big measuring cylinders left unattended by the lab assistant and the teacher-in-charge in Form 3 store, the standing fan and the extension cords left lying idly in Physics store. The screen in Form 3 lab is also left behind. The worst is that there are bottles of chemicals left in Form 3 store. Can't they think a little bit more on the danger which may be caused by those chemicals if people misuse them?
9:30a.m. I left the school heading for Sibu Specialist Centre as I had an appointment with Dr. Wong at 10:00a.m. It is a long queue and I waited for my turn at the clinic. I only got to see Dr. Wong at 11:00a.m. The cement is opened. After 3 weeks, my cracked ulna is just glued back and I still can't take anything with my left hand. It is not only still swollen and it is also painful. According to the doctor, I need to do exercise and certain degree of physiotherapy to my fingers and wrist so that they are back to normal. What a hard luck I have to get hurt at this time of the year. The doctor wrapped my wrist up with an elastic glove and I have to carry it for another 3 weeks before i see him in 3 week time.
11:15a.m. The lab contractor called and asked for the physics lab to be opened so that work on electric wiring can be done. Nobody from the lab is working. How am I going to go as I am still at the Medical Centre? I am scolding from the inside of my heart when everybody is not around. I called the Guru Kanan on duty but he is not in school. He is sending his car for repair. I called the driver to help me open the physics lab but I wonder he knows how to open. Anyway, let him try to do so.
13:30p.m. Until now I received no phone call from anybody from the school. At least I am in peace for the moment being. I assume the driver is able to open the physics lab at ease. Let me take a rest with my injured wrist. Mind you! Since 8/5/2010, I carried my bandaged wrist for the first 3 days and got it cemented on the 4th day upon advice from the colleagues. Thanks to all who had advised me to go for an X-ray if not I am still innocent of the crack in my left ulna. Furthermore, I refused to take any sick leave even though the doctor looked at me with qualms when I turned down his offer in certifying a sick leave for me. I am laughing at myself for being silly not to take that offer which I am eligible for it. I told myself not to take that advantage when I can still walk and teach.
15:00p.m. Sister from Bintulu dropped in with her hubby and her son. We chatted until 5:30p.m mainly on the issue of running a Taska cum Tadika. She is asking for our opinion on the prospect. We encourage her to go in at this moment and it is worth a try. She is quite enthusiastic but her hubby seems to be not very keen. Well! Let's see the outcome by October.
