Power and bullying

My youngest brother and my youngest sister are at an age gap of eight years and from young I saw them growing up with that type of close brotherly/sisterly love among my siblings. Just to give an example, back in the 70s, our family can hardly afford bottles of coca-cola for all of us. At that particular moment, we bought one bottle to be shared among my two youngest siblings. It is wonderful when I saw the love shown by my brother towards my youngest sister. Even though he would love to have that coca-cola, he extended his love and unconditionally let my sister to have all of it. And surprisingly my sister won't want to have all and insisted my brother to have his share.  It is invaluable the closely-knitted relation remains until to day.
Certain brothers and sisters are not educated to do so. The bigger brothers who are more powerful will bully their younger siblings through any means to get a bigger share if they are powerful enough to do so. They are not satisfied with an equal share or share according to what is supposed to be theirs. In another words, they won't follow the rule of laws. They will snatch a bigger share if they are able to do so. Greed is the main culprit.
I follow the news over Malaysian politics all these while. I start to think of reasons why Malaysian politics is hard to be done away with race and religion. How did the political scenario emerge as what it is today after 61 years of independence? It is an evolutionary process where the scenario become worse and worse diverging away from our Federal Constitution. During the early years of independence, government was run impartially with the help of some British officials in building a new nation. As years went by, the population of Muslim Malays outgrew all other races. The power of Malays in the government became stronger under the Malay special rights. After 60 years, the situation becomes worse when the practice is not following any rules of laws. All of them take for granted it is their rights to gain whatever they want to acquire without reference to the FC. Of course there are some more open-minded and educated Malays who realize the situation but choose to drift along with the situation which favours them. Another group choose to voice out what is supposed to be done for a multiracial country like ours and thus being hated by the past regime.
When they are in power, and like the big brother above, they started to claim more and more share even though they are not eligible to own it. Situation is at its worst moment when the past regime is deeply rooted in greed and corruption. In order to stay on holding their power, they give out more and more in the form of aids which as a result make them dependent on the government. Greed is poisonous and it spreads.  Many of us fled the country to look for greener pasture as they gave up hope in our country. However after GE14, Malaysians see again some light at the other end of the tunnel after a group of Malaysians worked strategically pairing up to form an alliance and managed to win against the corrupted regime. It is a new Malaysia today. A lot of transformation need to be done and are being done even without a full cabinet. Time and tides wait for no man. It is a blessing when TUN comes back and repented for his own wrong-doings and with his charisma he managed to unite the disarrayed parties to form our new government. It is my greatest hope that the new government is heading for something correct and Malaysians can live harmoniously irrespective of race and religion.
FC should be a guideline all the time. Malay special rights is there and nobody has any doubts about it. Nevertheless Malays should not use that special rights to suppress the minorities. Everything should be run as impartial as possible.  The new government must be able to convince the public and strike a balance in everything not favouring any party. Issues on education to be continued......
